How Trouble Began
This is not about the beginning of God. God has no beginning. No beginning? The concept of God’s pre-existence is beyond human comprehension. As Bible believers, we do not question the word of God. We accept His word on faith and that’s precisely what He wants us to do, for our own good. Listen to this:
“But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.” Heb. 11:6.
Admittedly, we do not have the exact chronology of the events that I am about to relate. But that is not an important issue. If it was, God would have revealed the exact order of these things to us.
One thing you need to keep in mind is that only a few books of the Bible are written chronogically. Most of them will first of all give the highlights. A little later, or even in a later chapter you will read more of the details. Let’s look at one example. Turn with me to the Book of Genesis, the first chapter.
In this chapter we read the account of the creation of our earth. In verses 25-28 you will read about the creation of the animals and of man. Note, in verse 27, “So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; (obviously referring to the creation of the human race) male and female created he them.”
Did you notice how it tells that God created “him”, but then goes on to say, male and female he created them.” That’s the way the Jewish writers often expressed themselves.
Now skip on down to chapter 2, reading verses 18-23 where some details are filled in. You will read how God created the animals and had Adam name them. Then God created the woman, which according to Genesis 1:27 had already been done. See how more details are filled in?
Just keep this style of narration in mind when you find other such backtracking in the Bible. Haven’t you ever told of an experience you had to someone else and had to go back to fill in some details which you had neglected to tell? Of course you have. I know I have.
It is difficult to tell everything in perfect chronology. Leave confusion and doubts to the poor unbelieving skeptics.
Go with me now to the Book of Revelation, the 12th chapter and verses 7-9. Here we read how Lucifer and his angels, fought against Michael (Christ) and his angels. Lucifer is called the dragon. That is cleared up in verse 9. They were cast out of heaven, to the earth. It states that they deceived the whole world (earth). Here is another one of those backtrackings so often found in the Bible to fill in details. Vs. 8 already told us that they were no longer found in heaven.
In the gospel of Luke, the 10th chapter and verse 18, Jesus said, “I beheld Satan as lightning fall from heaven.”
Turn now in the Old Testament to the Book of Ezekiel, chapter 28, verses 12-19. Here we read the account of Lucifer’s intention to overthrow God, because he thought he was superior. He was one of the two covering cherubs (vs 14).
In verse 12, Lucifer is symbolically referred to as the king of Tyrus, who had everything he could have wanted. He had great wisdom and was exceptionally handsome.
Verse 15 tells us that he was created perfect in all his ways until he got the big head. Verses 18 and 19 reveal that he will be ultimately destroyed.Let us go back now to the subject of the creation and ensuing events.
God had created a number of worlds and all was and is harmony in the universe that he created, with the exception of our world. There was no discord. There was only reciprocal love and fidelity to the Creator God. Divine love is more than an emotion. It is selfless and giving. This God-ordained love brings joy, peace, and fulfillment in the hearts of all His created beings.
The angels who are in character and stature a little above the other created beings, humbly and willingly serve and they thrill at the opportunty to do His bidding. All the beings of other worlds manifest the same willingness to obey God.
None question in any way God’s will, because they know from experience the great things He has done for them and continues to do for them. The other worlds, including the created beings, are perfect, with no degradation in nature or in the physical bodies of the inhabitants. Thus it had been in the entire created universe.
Wait a minute!—other worlds? Yes, other worlds. Is there even a hint in the Bible of the existence of other worlds. Well, open your Bible now to the Book of Job. Look at verses 6 and 7, of chapter one.
Here you will read about a council apparently held periodically by God in which the appointed leaders of all the created worlds came together to meet with God. In these verses, we notice that these representatives of the various worlds are referred to as Sons of God. They were so classified because they were without sin, remaining loyal to God.
But, what right did Satan have to be in this council?
As the others came representing their particular worlds, Satan presented himself as the ambassador from the earth. Having caused Adam and Eve to sin, Satan ururped rulership of the earth. In the Bible he is referred to as the prince of this world. See John 12:31; 14:30.
The apostle John, recognizing what undeserving sinners we are was astonished by the fact that we can be accepted by a holy and loving God. Turn for a moment to the first epistle of John, the 3rd chapter, verse 1, where we read:
“Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God:”
Think of it. we are unquestionably unworthy in our present sinful state.
“For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God.” Rom. 3:23
However, through accepting the merits of Jesus’ death in our behalf and living the life He set before us, we can qualify as sons and daughters of God. Amazing grace! We can see then that the term sons of God refers to those who have consecrated their lives to God and have denounced the ways of the world. (Satanic influence).
The angels who are in character and stature a little above the other created beings, humbly and willingly serve and they thrill at the opportunty to do His bidding. All the other beings of other worlds manifest the same willingness to obey God. They do not question in any way His will, because they know from experience the great things He has done for them and continues to do for them.
The other worlds, including the created beings, are perfect, with no degradation in nature or in the physical bodies of the inhabitants. Thus it had been in the entire created universe.

Here it is, where Satan came to represent the earth in the council.
Reading from the book of Job, the first chapter, verses 6 and 7.
“Now there was a day when the sons of God came to presesnt themselves before the Lord, and Satan came also among them. And the Lord said unto Satan, Whence comest thou? Then Satan answered the Lord, and said, From going to and fro in the earth, and from walking up and down
in it.”
Satan is saying, I came from the earth where no one challenges my right to strut around there. He was declaring his dominion over the earth.
Back now to the main story. All in heaven was at peace, but—
Then, the unthinkable happened, in heaven. Lucifer, was the highest angel in the order of rank. Lucifer stood right next to God as one of the two angels who hovered over the sacred throne. Lucifer was the most intelligent and beautiful creature that had been created. All the angels came to him for counsel and took their orders from him.
For some inexplicable reason, his physical beauty and his position went to his head and he began to believe that he would make a better God than his Creator. Reading between the lines in the Bible and sifting through the events surrounding his rebellion, we can readily postulate what took place.
We will begin by stating that God is Omipotent, Omniscient, and Onmipresent. There are three persons in one God. This is another mystery not understood by the mind of man. Jesus often referred to all three Persons of the Godhead, His Father, Himself, (the Son of God), and the Holy Spirit.
Just as when a man and a woman marry, they are individuals, but by pronouncing the wedding vows and being declared to be man and wife, they now become one flesh. They are still two distinct persons, yet they are now one.
Omnipotent means that They are all powerful.
Omniscient, means that They are all knowing. They not only possess superior wisdom that no created being can come close to match, but They can foresee things to come.
Omnipresent, means that They can be in more places than one at the same time. They cover the universe and nothng escapes Their notice.
Self-pride led Lucifer to believe that he would make a better King over the universe than God, his Creator. Let us examine in the Bible what happened with Lucifer. Turn with me to the Book of Isaiah, chapter 14, verses 12-17, it tells of the fall of Lucifer, once the highest angel in heaven.
It tells of how he was cast out of heaven, cast down to the earth and how he weakened the nations. (He weakened the people of the world through causing them to rebel amd sin against God.
We are much weaker than were the people before the flood, in every way. We are lesser in height and weight, in strength and in intellect. Sin is taking its toll on the human race.
The only way possible for us to return to the stature of Christ and to become once again as man was originally created, is to accept Christ and “to walk, even as He walked,” (1 Jn. 2: 6) as we are going to see.
